Banco Macro’s future headquarters at their final stage as a project

Buenos Aires, August 14th, 2012. Banco Macro’s Chairman Jorge Brito, along with other bank authorities and Milagros Brito, chairman of Vizora Desarrollos Inmobiliarios, shared a lunch with architect César Pelli with a view to finalizing the details of the project for the building of Banco Macro’s future headquarters, to be located in Catalinas Norte.

Designed by well-known architect César Pelli with an investment of over AR$ 500 million, the 28-storey building will have a construction surface equal to 50,000 m2 and its building is expected to start during the first semester of 2013.

The project has been designed to obtain LEED -Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design- certification standards. Therefore, it is aimed at reducing energy use and fostering a healthy environment with the twofold objective of taking care of our natural surroundings and improving workplace conditions. It is an ambitious plan seeking to erect an iconic building for the city which will also comply with sustainability standards.

The saving of potable water will be possible by means of a modern system which will allow the recycling of graywater coming from the replacement and cleaning of the air-conditioning cooling towers and from the collection and use of rainwater for irrigation purposes. The project will also seek to make the best use of natural light possible by means of a smart control system aimed at obtaining the exact level of lighting required on the basis of the natural light present, which will in turn make it possible to obtain efficient visual comfort and to save energy. The future headquarters will include open working areas, a cafeteria with a terrace so that the staff can enjoy the open air, a gymnasium for the employees, and an auditorium for shows and social events which can seat up to 200 people.

At this stage the relevant tender specifications are being drawn up to hire the contractors who will be in charge of the wiring and piping system installation and the building’s interior design, always in accordance with the sustainability standards set forth by the U.S. Green Building Council.
