Banco Macro and the Municipality of Tilcara launch the "Tilcara Eco Bikes" Program

Jujuy, December 23, 2013. In line with its corporate responsibility commitments in the locations where it operates, Banco Macro will donate to the city of Tilcara all the bikes and necessary accessories for the implementation of the so-called "Tilcara Eco Bikes" program, a community bike program organized by the Tilcara Municipality intended to foster sustainable tourism.

The donation ceremony shall take place on Monday December 23, 2013 at 12.00 noon at Belgrano 366, Tilcara.

As in the case of cities worldwide that attract a high volume of tourists, Tilcara will install a station where bikes shall be available for use free of charge. This community bike program has ten circuits that will allow getting around the city in a different manner. All the rides will begin and end at the Tilcara Tourism Office (Dirección de Turismo de Tilcara) and will last for approximately one to two hours.

Banco Macro shall donate bikes, helmets, safety locks, baskets, bike stations and parking lots, in the frame of a program that intends to foster healthy practices, improve life quality, promote the use of bikes as transportation means for citizens, foster more efficient and less polluting transportation, promote physical activity and develop an activity for the whole family. All the donated goods have been purchased from suppliers from the Northern Provinces of Argentina.
