Banco Macro sponsors the so-called "Jardines de Cosecha" in the Provinces of Jujuy and Salta

Jujuy, January 26, 2015. For third year in a row, Fundación Banco Macro and the Tobacco Chambers of the Provinces of Jujuy and Salta sponsor the so-called Tobacco Harvest Kindergartens (Jardines de Cosecha), a program for the prevention and progressive elimination of child labor in rural areas, providing assistance, education and entertainment to children aged 1 to 11, who are sons and daughters of employees and small producers in the tobacco areas.

This initiative seeks to provide an answer to family needs during the tobacco harvest season, involving not only child care during working hours but also containment and promotion of activities that will guide children by means of direct integral assistance methods.

The harvest season in the Provinces of Salta and Jujuy takes place during the months of January and February, with working hours spanning from 08:00 am to 4:00 pm. This edition of Jardines de Cosecha will enroll 80 children per center, totaling an aggregate of 560 children in the Province of Salta and 330 children in the Province of Jujuy; a total of 890 children in all.
